Okay, so I was kinda just browsing the internet, right? Like you do when you’re supposed to be, y’know, *working*, and I stumbled across a bunch of ads, and like, they were all kinda mashed together, thanks algorithms. Anyway, some of them were for Fendi, some for, like, custom jewelry places, Goldia, Etsy, Helzberg, CustomMade… it was a whole mess. But the common thread? “Custom” and “Jewelry”. Then I saw it: FENDI. *Custom*.
My brain went, “Wait, WHAT?! Is that even, like, *allowed*?”
Okay, so, thinking about it, it’s probably not, like, *officially* Fendi custom, unless you’re, I don’t know, Rihanna or something. (Seriously, if you’re Rihanna and reading this, hit me up, I have *so* many questions). But the ads are implying you can get Fendi-esque custom pieces. Which… okay, that’s kinda cool, if you’re into that kinda thing.
See, here’s my thing. I kinda like the idea of custom jewelry. Like, who *doesn’t* want a ring that’s *exactly* what they want? But Fendi… is it worth the markup? I mean, Fendi is all about the brand and the logos, right? So, if you’re going custom, are you just paying for the privilege of plastering the double-F logo everywhere? And will it actually look good? I kinda suspect the answer is a resounding NO.
I mean, I picture someone trying to, like, replicate a Fendi bag buckle in gold and making it into a pendant. And honestly? It would probably look like something a toddler made out of play-doh. Just sayin’.
Then again, maybe I’m being too harsh. Maybe there’s some *genius* out there who can take the Fendi aesthetic and turn it into something truly unique and personalized. Someone who can incorporate, like, the spirit of Fendi without just slapping a logo on everything. But honestly, the places that advertise “custom” jewelry seem to be like really cheap looking. It makes me feel like it would be low quality. I’d rather go to an actual jewelry store or something that can actually help.
But then again, if you are thinking about doing it, maybe use Etsy. They have some really good designers and might be able to get you what you want!
