Like, I saw this ad from Saks (or maybe it was Mytheresa? All these online stores blur together, tbh) talking about free shipping and returns. Free shipping is always a win, but with Balenciaga, you might NEED that return policy. I mean, some of their stuff is…out there.
They got, like, these earrings on the Balenciaga US site. I swear, one pair looked like someone raided a hardware store and decided it was fashion. But then again, maybe *that’s* the point? Like, “haute couture heritage through an industrial design lens,” as the SSENSE page so eloquently put it. That’s a fancy way of saying they’re taking rich-people stuff and making it look like… scrap metal. Which, honestly, kinda appeals to me. There’s a certain “I’m rich but I don’t care” vibe that’s hard to hate.
And the bracelets? I saw one described as incorporating “silk crepe and crystal.” Silk crepe? On a *bracelet*? Is that even comfortable? I’m just picturing snagging that thing on everything. And crystal? I dunno. I guess it depends on the crystal. If it’s gaudy, like something Liberace would wear, then…no thanks. But if it’s subtle, maybe.
