Miuccia Prada – yeah, the *real* Prada lady – started Miu Miu back in ’93, which, honestly, feels like forever ago. But the point is, she wanted a space to just…let loose. Prada is all about sophisticated, you know, *expensive* elegance, but Miu Miu? That’s where she could, like, throw in a sequin or two (or a whole freakin’ paillette party), play with retro inspo, and basically just not take things *too* seriously.
I mean, browsing through Miu Miu stuff online, you can totally see it. Nordstrom has a bunch, with free shipping *sometimes* which is always a win, right? And then Net-a-Porter talks about them challenging “traditional elegance” which, I mean, yeah. It’s true. They’re not your grandma’s pearls, that’s for sure. More like your grandma’s pearls, dipped in glitter, and styled with a ripped band tee (okay, I’m exaggerating *a little*).
They definitely go for a younger crowd, too. Like, the kinda person who isn’t afraid to, you know, rock a mini-skirt with knee-high socks and call it fashion. Which, tbh, I admire. I’m more of a leggings and oversized hoodie kinda gal myself most days, but I appreciate the *effort*, the *commitment* to the ~lewk~.
And it’s not just clothes either, duh. They’ve got bags (some of which are, like, *iconic* – I saw one on TikTok the other day that I *needed*), shoes that are either ridiculously cute or kinda out-there (or both!), and all the accessories you could possibly want. Eyewear, fragrance…the whole shebang.
