Discreet Packaging & That Pricey YSL Hat: A Rambling Thought
So, I was thinking… discreet packaging. It’s a thing, right? Like, you order, um, *certain* things online and you don’t necessarily want your nosy neighbor knowing all the details. I get it. Privacy is cool.
Then I was looking at Saint Laurent hats. *Specifically* the ones made of canvas and leather and with the lil’ YSL charm dangling off. Real cute, real pricey. (Seriously, who *has* that kind of money just laying around?)
Now, here’s where my brain went all wobbly. *If* you were to order one of those YSL hats online (hypothetically, of course, because, like, rent), would it come in discreet packaging?
Think about it. You’re spending a small fortune on a *hat*. A canvas bucket hat, no less! (Okay, a *chic* canvas bucket hat, but still). Do you *want* everyone knowing you just dropped a grand (or more!) on some headwear? Probably not.
I mean, imagine the delivery guy, casually tossing a box with “SAINT LAURENT” plastered all over it onto your porch. Bam! Instant target for porch pirates. Plus, just kinda… showy, ya know? Maybe you just want to quietly enjoy your fancy hat without advertising it to the entire neighborhood.
See, that’s where the “discrete” element comes in, I think. You wouldn’t want everybody to know that you bought a Saint Laurent hat, right?
But on the other hand… isn’t part of the *point* of buying a designer item the bragging rights? The little thrill of someone seeing that YSL logo peeking out from under your arm? I guess it depends on your personality. Me? I’d probably be torn. I like nice things, but I also like not screaming “ROB ME!” to the world.
Honestly, I’m not sure if YSL even *offers* discreet packaging. I tried to find out, but their website just talks about the hat itself. Maybe you have to call them up and be like, “Hey, can you ship this in a plain brown box? You know, for…reasons.” *wink wink*
I mean, you’d think that if they’re selling, shall we say, “adult” toys they’d have that option somewhere, but for a HAT?
