Anyway, I was doing some digging (mostly because I’m kinda obsessed with those Track trainers, even though my bank account definitely isn’t) and stumbled across some interesting stuff. Apparently, Balenciaga’s got a brand spankin’ new production center in Tuscany. Like, Italy? Fancy! It’s in Cerreto Guidi, which honestly, I had to Google. Seems like they’re focusing on leather goods there, which makes sense given their bags are, uh, a thing. And they’re gonna be training people there too, which is kinda cool, I guess. Seems less exploitative than some other brands, maybe?
But then there’s the whole “where to actually *find* Balenciaga” issue. The first line says it’s on their US online boutique, but then there’s also a “Men’s Balenciaga Sale” thing that’s supposedly a database of stores. Honestly, it’s a bit of a mess. Like, are they trying to make it *harder* to give them my money? And then there’s some random address in São Paulo listed… like, what’s that about? Is that their distribution center? A secret Balenciaga bunker? I’m so confused.
And those Track trainers? Don’t even get me started on the lacing. There are *tutorials* for it! Like, seriously, who needs a tutorial to tie their shoes? Unless Balenciaga is deliberately making it complicated to make people feel like they’re doing something special? I wouldn’t put it past them. I once saw a Balenciaga ad that looked like it was straight out of a dystopian film, so… yeah.
