First off, I’ve been doing some “research” (read: browsing the internet when I should be working), and it seems like CELINE is REALLY pushing their leather shoes. Like, everywhere. You see ads from Canada, Hong Kong (Le Rouge Celine, anyone?), even the freakin’ Netherlands! It’s a global leather shoe CONSPIRACY, I tell ya! (Okay, maybe not, but still…)
And the thing is, they look… good. I gotta admit it. I saw some on FARFETCH, and you can even pay in 12 installments! Which, tbh, is super tempting ’cause who has, like, the *actual* money to drop on CELINE shoes all at once? Not me, that’s for sure.
The thing that’s kinda confusing me is the whole “men’s leather shoes” thing in the Netherlands. I mean, I’m mostly interested in the women’s collection. I saw something about “iconic collections” and “newest products” and I was like, “Gimme! Gimme now!” But then I got distracted looking at lipstick… ’cause, ya know, CELINE Beauté is also a thing apparently. Talk about brand extension, am I right?
Actually, now that I’m thinking about it, what IS the history of CELINE? I saw something about “humble beginnings” somewhere… I need to Google that later. This whole thing is making me feel like I need a history lesson and a new pair of shoes.
Anyway, back to the shoes. The leather. The *luxury* leather. You gotta admit, there’s something about the word “luxury” that just makes you want to buy something, right? It’s like, an instant upgrade to your entire life, just by wearing a pair of fancy shoes. Or at least, that’s what they *want* you to think.
