Thing is, “cheap” doesn’t *always* mean garbage. I mean, look at Tissot! Okay, *maybe* not dirt cheap, but for a Swiss mechanical, they’re surprisingly… accessible. Especially if you snoop around for deals. H. Samuel seems to have some Citizen watches on sale, and those can be pretty decent for the price. Plus, sales are your friend, man. Always.
Speaking of sales, didja see that Fossil thing? A watch locket necklace? Huh. Not my style, personally, but hey, someone might dig it. And G-Shock? Yeah, those are practically indestructible. I saw a GBD100 FC Barcelona Red Limited Edition on sale, and I’m kinda tempted, even though I don’t even *like* soccer that much. Maybe it’s the red. Red’s cool.
But back to the “cheap” thing. You know, it’s funny, because sometimes the *really* interesting finds are in the vintage market. You gotta dig, though. It’s like treasure hunting. You might end up with a total lemon, but you might also stumble across something seriously cool, like a hidden gem from the 60s. That’s where the real adventure is, if you ask me. Plus, old watches have *character*, ya know? They’ve seen things.
Oh, and don’t forget the basics! Timex! Can’t go wrong with a Timex. Reliable, affordable, and they even have some minimalist styles now that don’t look totally dorky. (Sorry, Timex, but some of your older stuff was… something else.)
